DEI Grant
Despite a growing commitment to diversity among professional organizations, institutions, and training programs across the country, the field of genetics remains largely homogeneous and still faces significant underrepresentation of people from minority groups. The New York State Genetics Task Force (NYSGTF) is dedicated to addressing this critical disparity.
As such, we are pleased to announce the NYSGTF Grant for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
The goal of this grant is to support early career professionals and trainees from diverse backgrounds to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the field of genetics in the state of New York. The NYSGTF Grant for DEI is open to trainees and early career professionals from traditionally underrepresented groups in the field of genetics, including individuals who are Black, Latinx, Indigenous American, Asian, those with low-income backgrounds, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities.

Increase access to education and training opportunities for early career genetics professionals from underrepresented groups
Support research endeavors of young investigators from diverse backgrounds
Develop innovative approaches to improving DEI in genetics education, research, and clinical practice
